About the Webinar

In today's fast-paced information landscape, effective media engagement is essential for researchers aiming to translate their work into real-world policy and practice. This webinar is part of the Simplifying Science webinar series organised by the Sustaining the African Health Initiative Community of Practice (AHI CoP) Project Secretariat at the Regional Institute for Population Studies (RIPS)

The webinar aims to equip participants with tools and strategies to engage confidently and credibly with the media. Whether it’s an interview, press release, or opinion editorial, learn how to communicate research findings clearly, accurately, and compellingly to reach wider audiences and influence change.

Objectives:

  1. To provide insight into the media landscape and its role in translating research into policy and practice.
  2. To build capacity for developing effective communication strategies to simplify complex research findings without losing accuracy.
  3. To share practical tips for media interviews, writing for public audiences, and collaborating with journalists.
