About the Speaker

Dr. Pearl Kyei is social demographer with a passion for making research findings accessible and understandable to nontechnical audiences. She earned her BA in Economics at Davidson College before pursuing an MA and a PhD in Demography at the University of Pennsylvania. She currently works as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana’s Regional Institute for Population Studies where her research focuses on human capital investments in sub-Saharan Africa and understanding social inequality. Dr. Kyei has served as Technical Advisor to the Ghana Statistical Service, where she coordinated the dissemination of the 2021 Population and Housing Census results and led the development of an organisational writing style guide for communicating statistics in clear language to diverse stakeholders.
